In 2019, Carol and Brendan Deely founded Gabriel’s Light in memory of their son, who tragically died by suicide at the age of twelve. In honor of Gabe and all those lost to suicide, they share their journey to help save young lives. Through outreach programs and partnerships, they aim to reduce the stigma associated with suicide, encouraging conversations and raising awareness to inspire youth, parents, and educators to take action. All children deserve to understand that hope and help are available, even in times of hopelessness.

Our Youth Ambassador Program was designed to engage students in our mission and harness peer-to-peer communication as a powerful suicide prevention tool. Participants earn volunteer hours, learn skills, and contribute to an important cause.

Sessions include training and practice with a variety of skills including hosting a fundraiser, social media, and self-care practices.

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10 to 24.

Together, we can change this statistic.
