Hoops For Hope FUNdraiser
Our hearts are bursting with gratitude for all those who made Hoops for Hope a success! To all of our participants, parents, donors, sponsors, and volunteers: we needed each and every one of you working together to make it happen. The success of this event means we can continue to engage in the important work of educating our youth on topics like knowing the warning signs of suicide and how to help, the importance of spreading a little kindness, how to advocate and fundraise for important causes, and how to give back to their community through organizations like Gabriel's Light. We are inspired by the dedication shown to Gabriel’s Light and we like to think Gabe enjoyed watching everyone shoot their baskets!
Many Thanks to our Event Sponsors
Our FUNdraiser would not have been as successful, or FUN, without our event sponsors! An especially heartfelt thanks goes out to RedLine Athletics Old Irving, the gracious hosts and venue of Hoops for Hope. You can see their amazing new 12,000 square foot facility in every photo posted here - check them out!

In the Press
Ahead of Hoops for Hope, Founder Carol Deely had the opportunity to speak with local Chicago news organizations about the mission of Gabriel’s Light and the importance of education in preventing youth suicide. She was joined by a couple of very special guests: two Gabriel’s Light Youth Ambassadors and participants in Hoops for Hope. Thank you to WGN and FOX Chicago for helping us to spread awareness and promoting our Hoops for Hope FUNdraiser! And a big thanks to Gabe's friends and youth ambassadors William Schetz and Jonas Johnson for their heartfelt words!

About Gabriel's Light
In 2019, Carol and Brendan Deely founded Gabriel’s Light in honor of their son who died by suicide at age 12. In honor of Gabe and all those lost to suicide, they share their journey with the hope that others may learn and grow from their tragedy. Focusing on three pillars of cyber safety, suicide prevention, and kindness campaigns, through outreach, programs, partnerships, and funding, they raise awareness and inspire youth, parents, and educators to take action and help forward their mission.
